What's the Word? Weekend #18

It's time for What's the Word? Weekend number 18!



This weekend's news issss:


The Bad News:
I got a rejection from the agent who had my partial for The Zebra Stripes last Sunday. It hurt, but that's okay.
I also sent a confirmation to make sure that the agent with my full actually received it, but she never responded so ... yeah. 
I think TZS might need to be put on the back-burner for now.



The Good News:
The official word count (after finishing the edits) for West Coast is: 49,597 words. So I sent off my full to one of the agents that requested it. The other agent also wants a synopsis with the full, so I need to finish that before I send it to her as well (plus, I know this agent is SUPER busy this month, so hopefully she won't mind if I wait a little longer before sending it her way).

In other news:
I'm officially done with my second year of college (YAY!). It's kind of scary because I only have two more years left, which is weird to think about, so I try not to haha. But I'm excited for SUMMER 2012!!!!

Also, I have officially reached over 10,000 pageviews!!! Thank you SOOOOOOO much to everyone who has visited (and is currently visiting if you're reading this) my site!!!!! You guys are awesome!!! :D

I'm also trying to get started on my next book, but I'm having a really tough time deciding which idea of mine to write about next (because I have a lot, but none of them seem to be strong enough / really sticking with me), what genre and age group I should /am able to write for, or whether I should try to do major edits to The Zebra Stripes (and if I did, what I'd edit it to become), etc. ... Lots of stuff floating around in my mind this summer already on the writing front.

Current status of The Zebra Stripes!

Hola amigos! :D

Although I'm still not done with The Zebra Stripes (yet), I figured I'd give you all a little update on where I am with the story since my last post about it a few days ago.

So I liked the first surprise that I put into the book so much, I decided to add a surprise number 2 (well, actually it's kinda like surprise number 2 and surprise number 2 1/2 ... hopefully you'll get what I mean if you get to read it)! It's very similar to the first one, and it's somewhere else in the book.
And thus, that means .... *drum roll* .... I added another chapter to the book Haha! It's not a long one; it's only like 3500 words, but still; I'm excited about it! I put the second surprise in a brand new chapter of its own, while numero 2 1/2 got added onto a preexisting chapter! :)

I also finally finished the third to last chapter. :)
I kinda got a little distracted with writing the new one (like it consumed me as soon as the idea popped into my head). I also think it took so long because as a reader I don't want what happens at the end of the chapter to happen (cause it's sad), but as a writer I do ... if that makes sense haha!

The word count as of this moment is: 64,537 words, which includes the first scene of the second to last chapter I've already written. There's three major scenes in the second to last chapter, so I'm gonna guess that it's going to put the word count somewhere close to 70K once I'm done writing it, while the last chapter will definitely put it over the top! :D

And in other news: I finally reached 1,000 pageviews here on J.A.Y.A.!!!!!! I know that this technically happened yesterday ... but I wanted to give it the special recognition it deserved today! So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to ALL of you who have read even a little bit of my blog and helped me reach this milestone. I honestly get excited with EVERY pageview I get; so the 1,001th view is just as special to me as the 1,000th view. I hope that my blog can continue to grow with both the amount of people viewing it and the amount of information I can share with you all. :)
