What's the Word? Weekend #20

Hey guys!!!

It's time for What's the Word? Weekend number TWENTY!  :)

This was another pretty quiet week for me, which I absolutely LOVE (Rest & Relaxation are my current best friends, haha). :D
So this weekend's news is:

The Bad News:
I don't think I have any bad news for this week. :)

The Good News:
I sent out a couple more queries for West Coast. I've also outlined a couple new stories, but none of them seem to grab me right now. I don't know which story I'm actually going to start writing; I'm not inspired by any of them just yet. So I'm about to go and look back at some of the stories that I outlined MONTHS ago and kind of forgot about (because I really do have a lot of story ideas that float in, around, and out of my head ... which is why I always try to write them down).

In other news:
I have yet to hear back from the two agents with my fulls, so yeah. :)

Oh yeah, and I'm officially CPR and First Aid certified (again)! I had to take two classes for my summer camp job that starts in a couple weeks. I was first certified a few years ago when I worked as a CIT at a summer camp, which came in handy for the job I had when I was in high school since I needed to be certified for that too ... so I guess I was really just renewing it. But I feel like I learned a lot more from these classes than the one I took in the past.

Well, that's all for this weekend folks! Until next time!!! :D

There's no question this week, but I still want to quickly post something..

Thank you so much to Alison Can Read and Parajunkee for all the awesome questions and features that they've posted up! Without them, I wouldn't have found all the different blogs to follow, and I wouldn't have a lot of the fantastic followers that I have now. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

My feature blog is one of my closest blog buddies: Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain***

Tuney Tuesday #20: Lift (Shannon Noll)

Hey guys!

It's time for Tuney Tuesday number  TWENTY!!!! :D

Here are the rules:
Tuney Tuesdays is a weekly meme that Eileen at  ***Singing and Reading in the Rain***  and I at J.A.Y.A.! host. It's really easy! Just:

  • Once a week, on Tuesday, choose a song that you might be really into that particular week.
  • Include a video/cover art for that single if there is one (or the button for Tuney Tuesdays that I've made up. I'll put it later in the post.)
  • Include the lyrics
  • Write what you like about it in a review. Or write a few sentences about how it inspires you. Or how it relates to a book that you've been reading.
  • If you don't want to do your own song, you can use one of the songs that Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain*** or I have done for this week.

The song I chose to do this week is Lift by Shannon Noll. I first heard this song on the first season on the Biggest Loser Australia a few years ago (which I watched on YouTube)--it was the theme song. It was the perfect theme song about the contestants needing to just work hard even though it got really, really tough sometimes. And of course, I can totally see how this song can be used during everyone's life when they reach the tough times: you just gotta fight through it and keep your head up as you do, because you can overcome it. I know I'm not really diving into the deeper meaning of the song, but that's because, well, I think the lyrics speak for themselves here (and they speak pretty loud and clear, which I love). I feel like a lot of the songs I post about during TT have this kind of message, but I love that I can find so many different inspirational songs to share with you all, especially songs that you may not have heard before (such as Lift since Shannon Noll is an Australian singer). This is such a beautiful, empowering song, and I love that it's very raw in that it just comes out and says exactly what the song is meant to say as opposed to maybe using metaphors or something like that--it's just different, a good kind of different.

I know you're hurting
Feels like you're learning
'Bout life the hard way
And it ain't working

Seems like forever
That you've been falling
It's time to move on
You're life is calling, yeah

This was never meant to be the end
Close the book and start again

[CHORUS]
Cause I know how hard it can get
But you gotta lift
You gotta lift
And sometimes that's how it is
But I know you're stronger
Stronger than this
You gotta lift
You gotta lift

When you can feel your
Whole body's aching
What's left of your heart
It won't stop breaking
You gotta let go
You took a hit
Time to pick up now
Move on from this

This was never meant to be the end
Close the book and start again

[CHORUS]
Cause I know how hard it can get
But you gotta lift
You gotta lift
And sometimes that's how it is
But I know you're stronger
Stronger than this
You gotta

Lift yourself up above all the hurt
Don't give it
Wipe your eyes and remember
You're better than this
Let them know
That they took their best shot
And missed
C'mon and lift

This was never meant to be the end
Close the book and start again

[CHORUS]
Cause I know how hard it can get
But you gotta lift
You gotta lift
And sometimes that's how it is
But I know you're stronger
Stronger than this
You gotta lift
You gotta lift

Pick up now...
Pick up now...

That's all for this Tuney Tuesday folks!!! Until next time!!! :)
