HAPPY NEW YEARS 2013!!!! <:D

Hey guys!

I just wanted to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!!! <:D

I don't usually write down my resolutions (because it's hard for me to think of them all and list them all), but three of my main ones off the top of my head are:
1) Write more stories and novels
2) Get that much closer to my publishing goal
3) Be more healthy all around (from eating to exercising)

There's a lot more, but I won't list them all here and bore you guys. ;)

Anyway, I hope you all are enjoying (or did enjoy) your New Year's Eve, and I hope everyone has (or is having) an AMAZING New Year's Day!!!

Follow Me Friday #26

Hey everyone!!! :)

It's time for Follow Friday number twenty-six!!!

Let's take a look at this week's question:

Question: What book do you think everyone should read? If you could gift the entire population with one book?

Answer:  This is such a great, yet kind of tough, question!!!
I think I would have to go with To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. It's a classic, and it's one of my all time favorite books. I really love that it exposes racism for what it is (even if it's set in a past time period), and the overall themes (from social inequality to childhood innocence to good versus evil) of the book are also great. It's just so well-written (even through the eyes of such a young narrator), and so engaging and ... I just love it, like a lot! Anyone who hasn't read the book needs to!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

By the way, I just wanted to add that I love Bookworms Avenue's (the feature blogger) answer of Harry Potter. As soon as I read it, it immediately reminded me of how pretty much everyone in my generation is IN LOVE with the books. While I haven't read the books myself, I think the story itself is awesome from what I've gotten out of the first three movies I've seen. I've heard time and time again from my friends that the movies are ABSOLUTELY NOT the same as the books, so if I really like the books I can only imagine how incredible the series is! :D

Well, that's all for this Friday folks!!! Until next time!!!

Merry Christmas 2012!!!!

Hey guys!!!

Just wanted to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to those who celebrates it! And HAPPY HOLIDAYS to everyone!

Today is Tuesday, but unfortunately I won't be doing a full Tuney Tuesday post because I already have family over (and more is coming a little later). This is going to be the busiest my household has ever been on Christmas (which I'm excited about, because I not only get to see my uncle and cousin who lives in town, but also my aunt and cousins from England are here; it's gonna be a full house)!!!!!!

I was going to do a theme this December and just do TT posts that are Christmas/Holiday songs every Tuesday, but unfortunately I didn't have time to. So instead, I'm just going to post some of my favorite holiday songs' music videos today for you guys to enjoy! :D Hopefully that will kinda-sorta make up for the TT's that I missed this month. ;)

First, Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas is You!!!

Next, *NSYNC's Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!!!

Next, Taylor Swift's version of Last Christmas (unfortunately there is no official music video for her version of this awesome song)!!!

Next, Justin Bieber's Mistletoe!!!

And last but not least, Boyz II Men's version of Silent Night!!!

Well, that's all for today, folks! Enjoy the time with your family and friends!!! :D

I love that I was able to look outside my window this morning and see that there was snow on the ground (snow that wasn't there last night)! It truly is a white Christmas this year!!! :D

Follow Me Friday #25

Hey everyone!!! :)

It's time for Follow Friday number twenty-five!!!

I know it's been a while since I've posted FF. Let's take a look at this week's question:

Question: What have you learned from book blogging that you didn't know before about the publishing industry?

Answer:  I think the biggest thing I learned was just how versatile the publishing industry is.  Of course there are all kind of different books that get published in the world, but I think I learned not only how different publishers are in deciding which books they are willing to take a chance on and publish, but also the different tastes and view points of readers all over the world. I love being able to read other people's reviews of books, and I find it so interesting how one reader can give a book five stars, and another reader can give it only one.

Well, that's all for this Friday folks!!!
It's finally WINTER BREAK for me!!!!
Until next time!!!

What's the Word? Weekend #28

Hey guys!!!

It's time for What's the Word? Weekend number twenty-eight!  :)

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted--the last two weeks of the semester were CRAAAAAAZY for me! So let's take a look at this week's news:

The Bad News:
I don't think I have any bad news. :)
Now if you'd asked me last week, I probably would of said that I didn't think I'd make it through the week because I had SOOOO much stuff to do. But I made it through!!!! :)

The Good News:
I'M FINALLY ON WINTER BREAK!!!!!!
The fall semester is over in terms of class, and my finals aren't until the end of January, so I'm so excited to be home!!!! :D
Hopefully that means that I can post AND write A LOT more!!!

In other news:
I finally tested for my green belt in Taekwondo (I've been a yellow belt for two years), and while I haven't officially received the belt it sounds like everyone who tested for a belt passed, so YAAAAY!!! :D

I also finally had my intern interview yesterday. It was scary, but I'm glad it's over with. I don't think I did too bad (I was really nervous); I'm happy with myself because I honestly feel like I did the best I could after preparing as much as I could. I'm not expecting to hear back for a few weeks, so I'm trying not to think about it too, too much.

Also, BOB wasn't as much of a hit as I had hoped with my creative writing class. It's not that people didn't like it, it's just that I need to fix a lot of stuff about it. Also, my teacher said that my tone and sentence structure was more for middle schoolers than it was for YA readers ... which kind of hurt and confused me a little bit, but I've moved on. Like I've said in my previous posts, there was something about BOB that wasn't quite right, and I just couldn't figure out what it was, so I feel like I have a better understanding of what's wrong and why I'm feeling that way. I think I've come to realize that as of right now I'm going to embrace the ability of mine to write more for middle grade readers and go from there. At first I put this news under "The Bad News," but after thinking about, I realized that even though it was disappointing it was also really helpful because I did know something was wrong. Also, someone in my class came up to me and said that she really likes my idea, and that she just wanted to tell me that because people in our class tended to focus more on the negatives than the positives (which is VERY true), so that made me feel good (because a the end of the day, if I can keep even just one person engaged while reading my book, than I'm happy).

Well, that's all for this weekend folks! Until next time! :)
