What's the Word? Weekend #28

Hey guys!!!

It's time for What's the Word? Weekend number twenty-eight!  :)

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted--the last two weeks of the semester were CRAAAAAAZY for me! So let's take a look at this week's news:

The Bad News:
I don't think I have any bad news. :)
Now if you'd asked me last week, I probably would of said that I didn't think I'd make it through the week because I had SOOOO much stuff to do. But I made it through!!!! :)

The Good News:
I'M FINALLY ON WINTER BREAK!!!!!!
The fall semester is over in terms of class, and my finals aren't until the end of January, so I'm so excited to be home!!!! :D
Hopefully that means that I can post AND write A LOT more!!!

In other news:
I finally tested for my green belt in Taekwondo (I've been a yellow belt for two years), and while I haven't officially received the belt it sounds like everyone who tested for a belt passed, so YAAAAY!!! :D

I also finally had my intern interview yesterday. It was scary, but I'm glad it's over with. I don't think I did too bad (I was really nervous); I'm happy with myself because I honestly feel like I did the best I could after preparing as much as I could. I'm not expecting to hear back for a few weeks, so I'm trying not to think about it too, too much.

Also, BOB wasn't as much of a hit as I had hoped with my creative writing class. It's not that people didn't like it, it's just that I need to fix a lot of stuff about it. Also, my teacher said that my tone and sentence structure was more for middle schoolers than it was for YA readers ... which kind of hurt and confused me a little bit, but I've moved on. Like I've said in my previous posts, there was something about BOB that wasn't quite right, and I just couldn't figure out what it was, so I feel like I have a better understanding of what's wrong and why I'm feeling that way. I think I've come to realize that as of right now I'm going to embrace the ability of mine to write more for middle grade readers and go from there. At first I put this news under "The Bad News," but after thinking about, I realized that even though it was disappointing it was also really helpful because I did know something was wrong. Also, someone in my class came up to me and said that she really likes my idea, and that she just wanted to tell me that because people in our class tended to focus more on the negatives than the positives (which is VERY true), so that made me feel good (because a the end of the day, if I can keep even just one person engaged while reading my book, than I'm happy).

Well, that's all for this weekend folks! Until next time! :)
