Hey guys!
So I've been trying to think of what else I can post up on my blog besides just my book writing/querying news (since the process as you all probably know can be very slow at times, and I want to post more often). This new idea literally came to me like ten minutes ago, and I hope you like it!
So when I'm writing, though I can write in silence and if I have the TV on in the background (though it has to be a show that I've already seen / I'm not that interested in, because my writing process is VERY slow regardless), I always like to have music on. I have A LOT of songs on my itunes (as of now: 4,179 items under the music tab only), so I think it's fair to say that I LOVE music and it's a big PART of my life, even though I probably don't talk about it that much.
But anyways, I've decided to post about the music I listen to when I'm writing. The music is usually either a slow song, a song that I've listened to so many times that I'm numb to it when I'm writing, a song that basically summarizes my life as we speak, or a song that I find inspirational to my goals and dreams. I have A LOT of playlists as well, including playlists called "Writing," "Writing (Focus)," "The Zebra Stripes reading," "Inspirational for young me," and others that are based around the artists themselves that I'm sure I'll explain in later posts.
I'll probably make it so that I post up one inspirational song per week on a certain day of the week, but for now I'll post it up whenever. Hopefully you all will enjoy hearing my music choices when I'm writing (because a lot of them are similar to the music I listen to when I'm not writing, sins the slower tempo), and hopefully I can introduce you to songs, artists, etc. that you've never heard before; or if you have, introduce you to a new point of view about what the lyrics really mean. :)
So this first song I'm posting is what gave me the idea of doing this. It's called "Me, Myself and Time," and the artist is Demi Lovato. Of course Demi herself is a great role model for young ladies and girls everywhere, but this song just speaks volumes to me because it's so relatable to how I'm feeling right now with my journey, school, and life in general. I honestly only heard this song for the first time less than 24 hours ago, and I've already listened to it 41 times (and counting) on itunes. I love this song.
Lyrics (courtesy of www.elyrics.net):
I can make the rain stop, if I wanna
Just by my attitude
I can take my laptop, record a snapshot
And change your point of view
I just entered this brand new world
And I'm so open hearted
I know I've got a long way to go
but I'm, I'm just getting started
I'm over my head and
I know it, I know it
I'm doing my best
Not to show it, to show it
Whatever it takes to be
What I was meant to be
I'm gonna try
'Cause I'm Living the dream
And I know it, I know it
I'm trying my best
Not to blow it, to blow it
And I know everything will be fine
With me, myself, and time
And time... (7x)
I go where life takes me
but some days it makes me
Want to change my direction
Sometimes it gets lonely but I know
that it's only a matter of my perception
I just entered this brand new world
And I'm so open hearted
I know I've got a long way to go
but I'm, I'm just getting started
I'm over my head and
I know it, I know it
I'm doin' my best
Not to show it, to show it
Whatever it takes to be
What I was meant to be
I'm gonna try
'Cause I'm Living the dream
And I know it, I know it
I'm trying my best
Not to blow it, to blow it
And I know everything will be fine
With me, myself, and time
And maybe there's nothing like this moment
To just be real and let the truth be spoken
Whatever's broke I can make it unbroken
Turn the led in my hand into something golden
Just try, more love
If I just try, more love
Then I'll find myself in time
I'm over my head and
I know it, I know it
I'm doin' my best
Not to show it, to show it
Whatever it takes to be
What I was meant to be
I'm gonna try
I'm over my head and
I know it, I know it
I'm doin' my best
Not to show it, to show it
Whatever it takes to be
What I was meant to be
I'm gonna try
'Cause I'm Living the dream
And I know it, I know it
I'm trying my best
Not to blow it, to blow it
And I know everything will be fine
With me, myself, and time
(I'll find myself in time
I know I'll find myself in time)
So what do you guys think of my new idea about sharing some of my favorite writing songs with you all? :)
And what do you guys think of Demi's "Me, Myself and Time?"
I'd love to hear what you guys think!!!

That's sort of like my Tuney Thursdays! :) Haha, I loved Me, Myself, and Time by the way by her. It was in my head for a few weeks after the song aired on Disney Channel. We could totally do Tuney Thursdays together if you wanted! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha yeah it kinda is! :)
DeleteYeah, the song is definitely in my head at the moment...but I don't mind!
I'd love to do Tuney Thursdays with you. :D
My only question is how would we do it?
Like, I kinda wanted to post about my songs that I have in my itunes playlists; so would we be posting about the same song, or would it just be like we each post about a song on Thursday (and then everyone gets to read about two different songs on Tuney Thursday)? :)
Yeah I was thinking we each did a different song and maybe on some days we did the same one!
DeleteOoh okay...sure!
DeleteQuestion: Can we do Tuney Tuesdays? I feel like that has more a ring to it Haha ;)
Or I could do Tuesdays and you could do Thursdays if you like posting on Thursdays :)
I only do it on Thursday because I do Teaser Tuesdays but I could definitely do both in one day. Since today is a Tuesday I'll do both! I put bits of my songs on my Teaser Tuesday posts anyways. :)
DeleteYay!!!! I'm excited!!!! :D
