Tuney Tuesday #1: Inspirational/Writing Song #2 - I Was Here (Beyonce)

Hey guys!

So I will officially be posting my inspirational and/or writing song on Tuesdays from now on along with Eileen at ***Singing and Reading the Rain*** . It's something we will be doing every week, on Tuesday, starting today. It's really fun and easy, and we'd love for ANYONE to join us!

Here's how you can get involved in Tuney Tuesday, as provided by Eileen:
  • Once a week, on Tuesday, choose a song that you might be really into that particular week.
  • Include a video/cover art for that single if there is one (or the button for Tuney Tuesdays)
  • Include the lyrics
  • Write what you like about it in a review (whether it's why it inspires you, when you find yourself listening to it most, or that you just find it to be a really catchy tune)
  • And if you don't want to post your own song, that's okay too. You can maybe post about one of the songs Eileen and I chose that Tuesday, or even just comment on the songs that we chose.
Also add the button Eileen created to your page so we know you're one of us! :D

Now onto my first Tuney Tuesday song! It was hard to choose just one to be honest, but I think I found the perfect one for today.

This song is called I Was Here, and the artist is Beyonce. I actually first heard this song a couple weeks ago when a Facebook friend of mine posted the video I've provided below on his wall. I remember he wrote "I love her." above the video, and listening to it just added proof as to why I agree with him! Beyonce is SUCH an amazing singer, inspiring woman, and nice person from what I can tell. This song speaks so much to what I want in life as a writer. Having said that, whether I become a successful writer or not isn't so much my life goal as it is to just "leave my mark" in this world with whatever I do. So, whether you have big dreams and want to become famous someday, or you want to stay out of the spotlight and just focus on a career in something else you love, I think we should all just try to leave this world knowing we helped out and made a difference in the best way that we possibly could.

Lyrics (courtesy of www.elyrics.net):
I wanna leave my footprints on the sands of time
Know there was something that, and something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I'll leave no regrets
Leave something to remember, so they won't forget

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here

I want to say I lived each day, until I die
And know that I meant something in, somebody's life
The hearts I have touched, will be the proof that I leave
That I made a difference, and this world will see

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be

I will leave my mark so everyone will know

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here

I just want them to know
That I gave my all, did my best
Brought someone to happiness
Left this world a little better just because

I was here

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here x2

I hope you enjoyed my very first Tuney Tuesday! Let me know what you think of the song, and don't be afraid to join in on the fun!

  1. Very well said! I totally agree. It doesn't really matter what you do, you just want to leave some type of mark in the world so someone else can find it. I think so many people do leave their mark in the world, and it's never too late to do so. It never matters if you end up being forgotten or your career tanks. All that matters is the mark that you've already left behind. :)
