It's time for Follow Friday number twenty-eight!!!
Let's take a look at this week's question:
Question:What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?
Answer: Hmmmm, guilty pleasure .... that's a good quesiton.
I think I would have to say .... manga. Manga is essentially comic books that were created in Japan. One of my friends introduced them to me while we were in high school (along with anime, which is Japanese animation that is often based off of with manga). I haven't had much time to read manga since I've been in college, but I still have a few of them lying around in my room somewhere (which I'm not afraid to admit I bought when this same friend took me to an anime convention back when we were in 9th or 10th grade).

I've never read any manga--didn't even know what it was until I started blogging and saw it on a few memes--but I've always wondered about it. Guess I should try it out, huh? :D Great answer. Old follower. Happy Friday!

I've never read any manga. :( I love to read good detective novels, especially the ones with a sick, twisted villain and a great, perceptive protagonist. I don’t really feel guilty about reading them, though.

I never read Manga, but I grew up on Anime. I skipped a day of third grade (in a hard core Catholic school) to watch my favorite Anime show. I'd probably be just as addicted to Manga. New GFC follower here. Here's my FF.

ReplyDeleteI've read a few graphic novels, but I don't think I know enough to be able to say if any were manga. Apparently people are saying Gail Carriger's Soulless ones are, but I honestly wouldn't know if it was true manga.

I love the illustrations in Manga, but I can never read them. It's too confusing to read them the other way. And I have a hard enough time reading graphic novels published in the U.S.
