What's the Word? Weekend #45

It's time for What's the Word? Weekend number forty-five!  :)

So let's take a look at this weekend's news:

The Bad News:
No bad news that I can think of. :)

The Good News:
I'm still waiting to hear back from the publisher who asked me to fill out the interview last weekend. I'm trying to be optimistic, so I've been telling myself all week that "No news is good news," i.e. maybe they're drawing up a contract to offer me. But I also want to be realistic, because as everyone whose gone through the querying process knows, often times it's really "No news is no news." They did say that they were really busy in the previous email (exact words were: "We're a little busy at the moment but we have gone over your submission and discussed adding you to [publisher]."). Plus, I know that the editor I've been corresponding with has a book of her own coming out later this month, so she's probably busy with that as well. So far she's only corresponded with me over the weekend (the full request was on a Sunday and the interview request was on a Saturday), so if the pattern is any indication, my guess is that I'm gonna have to wait until next weekend to hear back from her (at the earliest). I'm totally fine with waiting, it's just so hard because, now more than ever, I feel like I'm so close yet so far!!!!

In other news:
I started taekwondo at my new school. The first practice was tough--we didn't really do any of the basic kicks or anything, so it was mainly conditioning (and "get to know you" type games). As a result, my quads were killing me to point that they still are sore even now (6 days later)! But it was fun. Truth be told, I really miss my old team, but I'm glad that members of my new team are nice and welcoming. I'm excited to get to know them all over time.
I don't know why this "In other news" section turned into the Taekwondo section. I'll try to think of some other fun things to write about next weekend! :)

Well, that's all for this weekend folks! Until next time! :)

  1. Taekwondo is such a cool sport!! I wish you luck in learning it! Don't worry I'm sure you'll be a master at it within a few months. Then you will be able to smash the rest of your quad haha! I hope they accept your book and publish it!! When it does, you've got to tell us.

    1. Thanks, J!
I'm actually a blue belt, so I'm only a couple tests away from black! I wish it was possible to master it within a few months...but it's not. I don't know if I could ever smash my squad, but I can hold my own in a sparring match, haha.
And aw, thank you! I definitely will let you know if I ever get my book published! :)
