Hey guys! :)
Happy Wednesday! And more importantly, Happy February 29th!!!!
IT'S A LEAP YEAR!!!
I don't get to say that very often, so I definitely think today deserves a special post (since it's a holiday in my eyes). I actually always thought it'd be cool to have your birthday on February 29th! Although I can totally see why people wouldn't want their birthday once every four years, I think it makes it that much more special and important to celebrate when 2/29 does come around!
So a VERY Happy Birthday to everyone that was born on February 29th!!!!!!!! Hope it's a good one!!! <:D
Until next time folks!

Tuney Tuesday #6: This is My Now (Jordin Sparks)
Hey guys!
It's time for TT yet again! :)
Here are the rules:
Tuney Tuesdays is a weekly meme that Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain*** and I at JB Kantt at J.A.Y.A.! host. It's really easy! Just:
So the song I chose to do this week is called This is My Now, and the artist is American Idol Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks. So far I've tended to pick songs whose lyrics are pretty self-explanatory (since I'm still in my i-tunes inspirational song playlist), and This is My Now is no different. Although this song would probably be a more fitting choice when (well, if) I'm able to find a literary agent, sign with a publisher (etc.), there was just something about this song that spoke to me this past week, and I'm not exactly sure what it is. My guess is that it has something to do with my sending out another batch of query letters. Even though I've already gotten quite a few rejections, I think it's that one partial that's still out and about that's giving me this new found hope (well, no, I've always had hope; but I feel more confident about this request than the last full request I got ... I feel more ready in some ways). It also doesn't hurt that my creative writing teacher for this semester (who's a BIG TIME author in the publishing world; she's a really big deal) complimented me on the three short stories I've written so far. It just feels amazing; I may not use the most extensive vocabulary as some of the other students in the class (or other writers out there), but the fact that I still get recognized as having written a good story by HER is incredible, it really is!
Just, I don't know .... all of a sudden I have a new found confidence, which is why I keep telling myself "this is my year, this is my time, this is my now" (OMG I'M TOTALLY USING THAT AS MY NEW MOTTO!!!!!). Okay, now as I type this I can see why I chose to do this song Haha. :)
Although Jordin's song is more about having accomplished what she's set out to do (having gotten onto American Idol; and ultimately winning), I think it can apply to really anyone who's going for their goals and dreams in the world, whether you've achieved them (yet) or not. Just don't give up: This is my now doesn't have to mean right now, it can mean a few days from now, a few months from now, even a few years from now. Just think of the "now" as being "my life"; one day, you'll get there.
Lyrics courtesy of elyrics.net:
There was a time I packed my dreams away
Living in a shell, hiding from myself
There was a time when I was so afraid
I thought I'd reached the end, baby that was then
But I am made of more than my yesterdays
This is my now and I am breathing in the moment
As I look around I can't believe the love I see
My fear's behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now
I had to decide, was I gonna to play it safe?
Or look somewhere deep inside, try to turn the tide
And find the strength to take that step of faith?
This is my now and I am breathing in the moment
As I look around I can't believe the love I see
My fear's behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now
But I have a courage like never before, yeah
I've settled for less, but I'm ready for more
Ready for more!
This is my now and I am breathing in the moment
As I look around I can't believe the love I see
My fear's behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now!
I'm living in the moment
As I look around I can't believe the love I see
My fear's behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now, this is my now
Well, that's all for this fine Tuesday folks! Hope you enjoyed it! Time for me to go to Astronomy class!

Here are the rules:
Tuney Tuesdays is a weekly meme that Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain*** and I at JB Kantt at J.A.Y.A.! host. It's really easy! Just:
- Once a week, on Tuesday, choose a song that you might be really into that particular week.
- Include a video/cover art for that single if there is one (or the button for Tuney Tuesdays that I've made up. I'll put it later in the post.)
- Include the lyrics
- Write what you like about it in a review. Or write a few sentences about how it inspires you. Or how it relates to a book that you've been reading.
- If you don't want to do your own song, you can use one of the songs that Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain*** or I have done for this week.
So the song I chose to do this week is called This is My Now, and the artist is American Idol Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks.
