It's time for Follow Friday number 16!!! :D
The question for this Friday is:
Question: This Sunday in the U.S. is Mother's Day. In celebration, what are some of your favorite books with strong mother/child relationships?
Answer: Hmmm, this is a tough question to answer.
I feel like in a lot of my favorite books, the mother of the main character is either dead, absent, or neglectful. That being said, as strange of an answer as this is, I love the mother/child relationship in Roald Dahl's Matilda. I haven't read that book in FOREVER, but that was the first book that came to mind. The stupidity of Matilda's mother is incredible, and makes the book funny, enjoyable, and just ... really great! I don't know if one would define the relationship as "strong" in the good sense, but it's a unique, interesting relationship no less. And then there's also that special bond between Ms. Honey and Matilda (which I won't go into because I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read the book). Matilda is such a classic book, and anyone who hasn't read it NEEDS TO, whether you're 12 or 32!!!!!!
So, that's my answer .... I hope you like it! :)
I can't wait to read all of your answers!!!
Until Next Time Folks!!! :D
