It's time for Tuney Tuesday number 15!!!! :D
Here are the rules:
Tuney Tuesdays is a weekly meme that Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain*** and I at J.A.Y.A.! host. It's really easy! Just:
- Once a week, on Tuesday, choose a song that you might be really into that particular week.
- Include a video/cover art for that single if there is one (or the button for Tuney Tuesdays that I've made up. I'll put it later in the post.)
- Include the lyrics
- Write what you like about it in a review. Or write a few sentences about how it inspires you. Or how it relates to a book that you've been reading.
- If you don't want to do your own song, you can use one of the songs that Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain*** or I have done for this week.
So the song I chose to do this week is We Are Young by the band Fun. (feat. Janelle Monáe), except I'm focusing more on the Glee Version of the song. Let me first start off by saying I think that Fun.'s version is really great, but I absolutely LOVE the Glee Version of this song. Now, I'm SUPER behind on Glee (still on the first season ... I got behind on one episode (episode 22 I believe), and then I didn't want to see the next episode until I saw the episode I missed, but then I think it was my senior year of high school so I was super busy and it snowballed out of control to where I'm now SEASONS behind. BUT! I somehow came across the YouTube video of this song, and I just about melted. It's SOOO good! I've seen it like a million times, and for some reason I ALWAYS get chills when watching it (maybe that's my inner Gleek telling me to catch up on my Glee, haha).
I think also, what made me so into the Glee video is that it makes the song be much more about togetherness than just having a good time (even though having a good time is also a great message ... We're young! Enjoy it while it lasts! :D). I don't even know what the episode for this song is about, and yet the unity and emotion I get from it is still so strong, and I connect to it so well. So whatever the ending was, it looks like it was a somewhat happy one. :)
So yeah, the message I got from the Glee version is that we're all in this together, and if we stand strong we can do anything we put our minds to because we're there for each other! And from the Fun. version: just don't take yourself too seriously; don't be afraid to enjoy the younger years while you still can!
So I have to congratulate Fun. on having such an amazing song, and Glee for doing a great version of it as well. :)
I posted the Glee video that I fell in love with, but in case you want to see the Fun. music video as well, I've posted that too. :)

Lyrics courtesy of azlyrics.com:
Give me a second I,
I need to get my story straight
My friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the Empire State
My lover she’s waiting for me just across the bar
My seat’s been taken by some sunglasses asking bout a scar, and
I know I gave it to you months ago
I know you’re trying to forget
But between the drinks and subtle things
The holes in my apologies, you know
I’m trying hard to take it back
So if by the time the bar closes
And you feel like falling down
I’ll carry you home
Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun
Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun
Now I know that I’m not
All that you got
I guess that I, I just thought
Maybe we could find new ways to fall apart
But our friends are back
So let’s raise a toast
‘Cause I found someone to carry me home
Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun
Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun
Carry me home tonight (Nananananana)
Just carry me home tonight (Nananananana)
Carry me home tonight (Nananananana)
Just carry me home tonight (Nananananana)
The world is on my side
I have no reason to run
So will someone come and carry me home tonight
The angels never arrived
But I can hear the choir
So will someone come and carry me home
Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun
Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun
So if by the time the bar closes

So that's all for this Tuney Tuesday!
Until next time folks!!! :D

A lot of my friends sing this song really frequently, and I didn't know there was a Glee version! But I really do like the message behind here. :) Thanks for sharing! :)
