What's the Word? Weekend #18

Hey guys!!! :D

It's time for What's the Word? Weekend number 18!

This weekend's news issss:

The Bad News:
I got a rejection from the agent who had my partial for The Zebra Stripes last Sunday. It hurt, but that's okay.
I also sent a confirmation to make sure that the agent with my full actually received it, but she never responded so ... yeah.
I think TZS might need to be put on the back-burner for now.

The Good News:
The official word count (after finishing the edits) for West Coast is: 49,597 words. So I sent off my full to one of the agents that requested it. The other agent also wants a synopsis with the full, so I need to finish that before I send it to her as well (plus, I know this agent is SUPER busy this month, so hopefully she won't mind if I wait a little longer before sending it her way).

In other news:
I'm officially done with my second year of college (YAY!). It's kind of scary because I only have two more years left, which is weird to think about, so I try not to haha. But I'm excited for SUMMER 2012!!!!
Also, I have officially reached over 10,000 pageviews!!! Thank you SOOOOOOO much to everyone who has visited (and is currently visiting if you're reading this) my site!!!!! You guys are awesome!!! :D
I'm also trying to get started on my next book, but I'm having a really tough time deciding which idea of mine to write about next (because I have a lot, but none of them seem to be strong enough / really sticking with me), what genre and age group I should /am able to write for, or whether I should try to do major edits to The Zebra Stripes (and if I did, what I'd edit it to become), etc. ... Lots of stuff floating around in my mind this summer already on the writing front.

Well, that's all for this WWW folks! Until next time!!! :D

  1. Wow youve accomplished so much so young and with school too! When i was in college two years ago, spending any extra time on the computer bothered me and reading for fun was out of the question lol.

    1. Haha, thanks IAHL! :D

Yeah, reading for fun was definitely out of the question with all the schoolwork I had ... but I do love my CPU. :)

  2. Really enjoy your blog-- especially these posts. As another young writer, I love knowing I'm not the only one in query limbo.

    1. Aw, thanks so much Kait! :D
It makes my day to know that other young writers are reading my blog and can connect to the long querying journey. :)

  3. Congrats on getting out of college now and next year it'll be only one more year until you graduate! Next year will be my last year in middle school, and then I'm getting out! My school starts late for some reason, so I still have a month of school, and after my Chinese, Spanish, and algebra finals, I'm a free girl, haha! Congrats on finishing West Coast, too! :)

    1. Thanks Eileen! :D
My middle school and high school were the same way; they still have about a month of school left too.
Wow, I don't think I had finals in middle school ... at least, I don't remember having them, haha (I think we just had one last big test in some of my classes).
      Thanks again :)
