And then there was one ...

 Hey guys,
Just a quick update that the first agent rejected my full about an hour ago. Although the rejection for the most part was a form rejection, she also noted that the voice of my story sounded to her more like middle grade, but there were certain elements (age of protagonist, etc.) that seem closer to YA. She suggested that I make a firm decision, and tailor my manuscript in that direction. I can definitely see where she is coming from, and depending on the feedback I get from the one agent that still has my book, I will definitely heed that advice. If I were to change anything, I would probably try to find those "certain YA elements," and see what I can do with those.

I also received two query rejections today. So, in total this week (from Monday to Monday) I've gotten: 3 FULL rejections and a bunch of query rejections. This has not been my week. But I'm trying to keep my head up.

Until tomorrow folks (for Tuney Tuesday).

  1. Sorry to hear about the rejections. I'm not sure how I would handle it if I were a writer. I suppose I would just have to try and try again, haha. Good luck with making a decision on your manuscript!

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

I'm sorry to hear about your rejection letters! That sucks! But keep your head up. A lot of authors say that getting published is the hardest part. I know a lot of them get turned down before the find the right one. I hope to write (more accurately: finish) a novel, and get published as well so I can understand how stressful that must be!

On a brighter note, your blog is beautiful! I love it!
