Tuney Tuesday #22: Black and Blue (Ingrid Michaelson)

I know it's been a while, but it's (finally) time for ...:
 Tuney Tuesday number  twenty-two!!!! :)



Here are the rules:

• Once a week, on Tuesday, choose a song that you might be really into that particular week.

• Write what you like about it in a review. Or write a few sentences about how it inspires you. Or how it relates to a book that you've been reading.
• If you don't want to do your own song, you can use one of the songs that Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain*** or I have done for this week.

The song I chose to do this week is Black and Blue by Ingrid Michaelson. It's not part of my inspirational playlist like most of my TT songs are, but I love this song so, so much (not so much what it's about (which is an abusive relationship), but it's just so catchy and I like the feel of it). What also drew me to it (and how I originally heard it) was on a TV show called All the Right Moves. The show follows dancers/choreographers Travis Wall, Nick Lazzarini, Teddy Forance, and Kyle Robinsons who are best friends and starting their own dance company called "Shaping Sound." Anyway, Travis actually choreographed and directed the music video (or well, a potential music video that I don't know if Ingrid ended up using or will end up using) for Black and Blue, and some of the Shaping Sound dancers were in it. I've been a HUGE fan of Travis Wall since he came into the limelight as the runner up of So You Think You Can Dance (one of my favorite shows) during Season 2 (my favorite season of the show to date!). Seeing as their are other SYTYCD alum on the show, I knew from the start that I'd become a big fan of All the Right Moves as well, so watching the first season of the show was really amazing ... and I really hope they have a second season!
Anyway, ATRM introduced me to Ingrid Michaelson, who has a really amazing voice and unique sound, which I love! I can't wait to dive into more of her music, because she's really great!
