Tuney Tuesday #8: Beautiful (Christina Aguilera)

It's that special time of the week again ... TUNEY TUESDAY!!!! :D



Here are the rules:
Tuney Tuesdays is a weekly meme that Eileen at  ***Singing and Reading in the Rain***  and I at J.A.Y.A.! host. It's really easy! Just:

• Once a week, on Tuesday, choose a song that you might be really into that particular week.
• Include a video/cover art for that single if there is one (or the button for Tuney Tuesdays that I've made up. I'll put it later in the post.) 
• Include the lyrics
• Write what you like about it in a review. Or write a few sentences about how it inspires you. Or how it relates to a book that you've been reading.
• If you don't want to do your own song, you can use one of the songs that Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain*** or I have done for this week.

Okay so the song I chose to do this week is Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful. While this song is a decade old, it’s still just as incredible and inspirational as it was back in '02. It’s no secret that Christina is an amazing singer and really talented, and I think over the past year or so she’s proven that the lyrics to this song are true through her own life. Songs like these are my favorites, because it’s one thing for an artist to sing a great song that inspires girls to just be who they are and who they want to be, but it’s another thing for the artist to actually lead by example and show what they mean. She’s happy being the way that she is now, curvy body and all; and although she may make mistakes, she doesn’t let anyone put her down for them (I mean come on, at the end of the day, she's only human!). I think Beautiful is inspirational for all girls, whether they’re big, skinny, curvy, young, old, black, white, short, tall, anything! And also, when she says “you are beautiful,” I think she also means more than just beautiful on the outside; every girl is beautiful inside and out. Everybody's different, and while it's impossible for one to get along with everyone, that doesn’t mean that someone with a type A personality is any better or worse than somebody with a type B personality. I think the bottom line is that we should all just be ourselves, and not listen to the negative criticism that others spew at us; it’s not worth it, because life is too short, and we deserve better than that.
