Tuney Tuesday #12: Marchin On (OneRepublic)

Hey guys!

It's time for Tuney Tuesday numero doce!!!! :)

Here are the rules:
Tuney Tuesdays is a weekly meme that Eileen at  ***Singing and Reading in the Rain***  and I at J.A.Y.A.! host. It's really easy! Just:
  • Once a week, on Tuesday, choose a song that you might be really into that particular week.
  • Include a video/cover art for that single if there is one (or the button for Tuney Tuesdays that I've made up. I'll put it later in the post.)
  • Include the lyrics
  • Write what you like about it in a review. Or write a few sentences about how it inspires you. Or how it relates to a book that you've been reading.
  • If you don't want to do your own song, you can use one of the songs that Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain*** or I have done for this week.

So the song I chose to do this week in Marchin On by OneRepublic. This is such an uplifting song; it's fun to dance to, fun to sing to, and yet it still gives me that empowering feeling. It's so inspirational for me; I love it. I've been a fan of OneRepublic for a while; ever since I heard their song Apologize (before Timbaland did a remix of it and it started playing on the radio). I think they're one of the best bands out there, and they only continue to get stronger and more popular with every song they release. OneRepublic is awesome.
What I love most about Marchin On is that its lyrics can be interpreted in so many ways; a relationship, those who are at war, or even life in general (getting through the struggles and tough times). It's all about keeping it together and not losing it (or even getting yourself together) so that you can forward. Sometimes it may be as simple as taking one small step at a time, but that's okay ... as long as you're marchin on, that's all that matters. ;)
Although this isn't one of their most well-known songs (I actually only heard it a couple years ago when some people at my old dance company performed a dance number to it), I hope you all enjoy this song as much as I do. I can't help but tap my foot (or starting internally "marchin") whenever I hear this song. I love it so much! :)

Lyrics:
For those days we felt like a mistake,
Those times when loves what you hate,
Somehow,
We keep marching on.

For those nights when I couldn't be there,
I've made it harder to know that you know,
That somehow,
We'll keep moving on.

There's so many wars we fought,
There's so many things we're not,
But with what we have,
I promise you that,
We're marching on,
(We're marching on)
(We're marching on).

For all of the plans we've made,
There isn't a flag Id wave,
Don't care if we bend,
I'd sink us to swim,
We're marching on,
(We're marching on)
(We're marching on).

For those doubts that swirl all around us,
For those lives that tear at the seams,
We know,
We're not what we've seen,

For this dance we'll move with each other.
There ain't no other step than one foot,
Right in front of the other.

There's so many wars we fought,
There's so many things we're not,
But with what we have,
I promise you that,
We're marching on,
(We're marching on)
(We're marching on).

For all of the plans we've made,
There isn't a flag Id wave,
Don't care if we bend,
I'd sink us to swim,
We're marching on,
(We're marching on)
(We're marching on).

Right, right, right, right left right,
Right, right, right, right left right,
Right, right,
We're marching on.

We'll have the days we break,
And we'll have the scars to prove it,
We'll have the bonds that we save,
But we'll have the heart not to lose it.

For all of the times we've stopped,
For all of the things I'm not.

We put one foot in front of the other,
We move like we ain't got no other,
We go when we go,
We're marching on.

There's so many wars we fought,
There's so many things we're not,
But with what we have,
I promise you that,
We're marching on,
(We're marching on)
(We're marching on).

Right, right, right, right left right,
Right, right, right, left, right,
Right, right,
We're marching on.

Right, right, right, right left right,
Right, right, right, left, right,
Right, right,
We're marching on.

That's all for this Tuesday folks! Until Thursday!!! :D

    1. Yeah, I fell in love with this song as soon as I heard it for the first time sitting in the audience at my dance company's dress rehearsal a couple years ago. :)
