Tuney Tuesday #14: Who I Am (Nick Jonas & The Administration)

Hey guys!

It's time for Tuney Tuesday number 14!!!! :D

Here are the rules:
Tuney Tuesdays is a weekly meme that Eileen at  ***Singing and Reading in the Rain***  and I at J.A.Y.A.! host. It's really easy! Just:

  • Once a week, on Tuesday, choose a song that you might be really into that particular week.
  • Include a video/cover art for that single if there is one (or the button for Tuney Tuesdays that I've made up. I'll put it later in the post.)
  • Include the lyrics
  • Write what you like about it in a review. Or write a few sentences about how it inspires you. Or how it relates to a book that you've been reading.
  • If you don't want to do your own song, you can use one of the songs that Eileen at ***Singing and Reading in the Rain*** or I have done for this week.

So the song I chose to do this week is Who I Am by Nick Jonas & The Administration. Can I first start off by saying that I LOVE the music video for this song. It's something so simple, and yet so inspiring. I love that there are people from all walks of life in the video, and even Nick's in the video with a couple signs (I know me saying that the artist is in the video sounds silly, but you'll see what I mean if you watch it).
I think everyone can relate to the message of this song. It's about being wanted; we all want to be wanted, feel needed, want someone to love us. It doesn't really matter if you live the life of a celebrity or the live of an average person ... we all want to have people in our lives who love us for who we are, for being ourselves and no one else. And with that acceptance comes all the good and bad qualities in us, no matter what they are.
Who I Am is not only a catchy song, but I love that you can hear the passion in Nick's voice as he sings. Even though he's still in his teens, he's so mature for his age, and I completely respect and admire that.
I think that at the end of the day, it's all about being yourself. And you want to make sure you find that special someone, or even just have friends and family in your life, who support who you are.

Lyrics courtesy of elyrics.net (*with my own edits*):
I want someone to love me
For who I am
I want someone to need me
Is that so bad?
I wanna break our madness
But it's all I have
I want someone to love me
For who I am

Nothing makes sense
Nothing makes sense anymore
Nothing is right
Nothing is right when you're gone
Loosing my breath
Loosing my right to be wrong
I'm frightened to death
I'm frightened that I won't be strong

I want someone to love me
For who I am
I want someone to need me
Is that so bad?
I wanna break our madness
But it's all I have
I want someone to love me
For who I am

I'm shaking it off
I'm shaking off all of the pain
You're breaking my heart
You're breaking my heart once again

I want someone to love me
For who I am
I want someone to need me
Is that so bad?
I wanna break all the madness
But it's all I have
I want someone to love me
For who I am

Are you gonna love me? Yeah.
For who I am?

I want someone to love me
For who I am
I want someone to need me
Is that so bad?
I wanna break all the madness
But it's all I have
I want someone to love me
For who I am

Yeah!
Who I Am!

That's all for this TT folks!!! Until next time!!!

  1. I'm SOOO sorry that I didn't get to post Tuney Tuesday today! I had it all scheduled and ready to go, and then something came up and I had to make a post about that. If you want to read it, just click here, but I'm so completely sorry, but I didn't want to avoid posting my post and delay it, and I didn't want to give my song review as much recognition as it deserved.
